Structural Residential Steel Works

The client contacted us after buying the property. The property surveyor had missed major structural movement. Once the client got works underway his builder spotted the crack and the over stressed masonry piers. Furthermore, the client instructed his structural engineer to look at this. We were then introduced to the client via his builder.
This job presented a number of challenges as the temporary works solution provided by the structural engineer would introduce build ability issues and great cost. We took the concept and went through out ow structural/temporary works partners and managed to reduce the cost and time on the job by over 25% than originally forecast. We also involved building control and ensured they were kept up to date during the whole structural modification process.
We started by laser surveying all levels including foundation and floor heights. We then got to work with ordering materials and organising labour as the client was pushed to do this over Christmas due to interior fit out availability. The temporary works was installed within three days and the two days thereafter the wall was demolished. The following two days the existing foundation was re-enforced, and the steel was fabricated onsite to the first laser survey.
The following week we were back to Dissemble our temporary works and clear site, thus leaving the client/builder with an opening ready for the glass frame and masonry that is safe, ready for make.
